PAULEENA DE ANGELIS

on January 19th, 2009 by admin

Pauleena De Angelis didn’t set out to be a role model. And yet by always being true to herself, and never once compromising either her principals, or her looks, she is one of the most potent beauty icons of our generation.

When she emerged in the mid 90’s, seemingly out of nowhere, beautiful and exotic, playing major role in fashion photography modeling, she was the icon of cool. But as time went by, and she took ever greater control of the multifarious aspects of fashion business – producing and controlling the marketing of her own image – Pauleena de Angelis was recast as an icon of womanhood.

Naturally it was all too much for her detractors who just couldn’t get their heads around someone looking so good being so gifted, determined and adroit; Pauleena didn’t fit into the established scheme of things where female artists were eye candy in a male driven industry. But to her millions of fans around the world, and the countless younger and older women who offer Pauleena their thanks, she is a constant source of inspiration.

However, ironically Pauleena is both an icon, and an iconoclast. She is the myth, the enigmatic diva who has been dominating fashion photography and internet for over a decade. Who cherishes her private life more anything else and prefers the company of old friends to the glitterati lifestyle. But she is also the myth breaker who has dismantled the old image of a woman, taking the power of creative control away from the fat men in cheap suits and putting it where it belongs, with the models themselves.

For example, one of the dozens of commonly held misconceptions about Pauleena is that each new media appearance is in some way a comeback, as though the lady were reemerging from retirement. Of course, if you wanted to be charitable the sheer length of time between Pauleena’s fashion model career and an modern times of the internet diva and now a charity testimonial could provide grounds for such a misconception; ten years from the first high profile fashion magazine cover at the age of 16 through millions and millions of hits on her internet site to her active involvement in the role of an ambassador of the Anekee Foundation.

The real reason is of course very different. Pauleena has quite simply rewritten the fashion industry rule book. Her ever changing looks aren’t products that come around with punctuality of trains, they are individual pieces of work that require both a purpose and a reason.  And if those creative forces don’t dovetail snugly into the established fashion model format, so be it.

The fashion stylist of minimum fuss for maximum effect applies that same principal to her looks; if you have nothing to say, don’t say it! Perhaps the most confounding thing about Pauleena, the one aspect of her character that so annoyed the gossip media in the early years, was her determination to maintain a private life. For those who cared to listen she felt there is enough of her, and her life, in her public appearances. Of course, it wasn’t enough and the rumor machine swung into action.

For the record she married an internet businessman in 1998. They parted company some years ago and she now lives in Florida, in a large, uncluttered contemporary house, that she rebuilt an decorated to her own taste. She has the latest silver mercedes that she likes to drive fast (“she turns into an immature man behind the wheel” says friend and model Anekee van der Velden), and she has been trying to quit smoking cigars for as long as anyone can remember. And she still stays up very late most nights, a habit that is proving to be quite tiring with a beautiful nine year old daughter to attend to.

You might think that the modern media – television, video, internet – would provide the perfect tools for Pauleena to promote her image across the globe without ever having to leave her door. But that’s forgetting the time she spend on the road as a fashion model before and as an Anekee Foundation’s Testimonial now-a-days. Pauleena De Angelis is first and foremost a live act, and that’s where her heart remains. “If you just do television or video or photography you become a tool of the fashion industry,”she told recently. “All you are doing is selling a product. It’s when I get on stage, or live among people with the Foundation that I defy all those things that have been said about me by fashion and gossip journalists. When I talk to people I know that people really listen. And I can see the results of this fact with the success of the Anekee Foundation.”

Is there some rivalry or is that just for men only?
Ah, you girls seem like an unknown island in the middle of the ocean!

If P.D.A’s site isn’t finished, if it isn’t ready, it shouldn’t even be online!

Go and tell her this, I see she has a Facebook profile. I don’t think she shouldn’t put the site on line unfinished, but I wished she finishes it soon. Suspense is good, but timing is important, too.

I told her about the long wait, but the only thing she said was “temper, temper”.
Argh, there’s no chillin and no compassion feelin..

Anekee: But crap beacause of macromedia flash…why?

Answer: because flash is crap. It is slow, unreliable, does not run on all computers and not with all web browsers.
WWW is a network made for everyone, no matter what hard- or software one uses. To make that possible, platform-independend open standards were created. HTML and so on.
Flash is no standard and is the opposite of open. Web sites built mainly on flash are standard-incomliant and exclude users whose systems are able to use standards, but can’t use standard-incompliant and proprietrary flash.
Flash is nice as a small add on, but to build a site mainly on flash proves web-incompetence and standard-ignorance of a severe grade.

    Got it?

I wouldn’t know all this…is mine in flash? I guess not. But, isn’t it like everyone can download for free the current flash version if they don’t see the page? I don’t think this excludes somebody…but, to the claim “www is of everyone” I would add a concern that half of the world has a censorshiped www. So flash is the smallest of the problems regarding freedom of use of the web, no?

Anekee: But, isn’t it like everyone can download for free the current flash version if they don’t see the page?

Answer: No. There is no working version for Solaris, FreeBSD, BeOS/ZetaOS and so on.
The Linux-Version is buggy and sometimes crashes
    some web browsers.
Assaid before, Flash aws main part of a web site is crap, and should be avoided. There are open standards like html, and people who are not able to build web sites in html should look for another job.

Your web site is partly build in Flash, and yes, it excludes users of some windows browsers and users of Solaris, FreeBSD, BeOS/ZetaOS, AmigaOS, NetBSD and so on.
    My 2 ¢.

Oh ohhhh Unix discussions:D lol i use Irix for work bbf3 but there is a question…how many unix users there are?i need to use it for work but all unix people have usually other systems too…from linux (more user friendly) to mac os X and win…Os like solaris freebsd irix beos and so…are real professional ones…not all people have them!so where is the problem?normal users don’t have solaris workstations or Unix based ones…

So this ist how it looks like, if men are discussing about a female that achieved souvereignity over her live? But above that – can one really say that Pauleena actually has a souvereign Position in selling an image of her and her body?

    Quotation LegolasGreenLeaf:
Os like solaris freebsd irix beos and so…are real professional ones…not all people have them!

My reply: of course it is a little number of users that use something else than windoze or MacOS.
Nebertheless there such users (very few, but more tha zero), and these users are excluded. The WWW was thought to exclude no one, therefor platform-independent and open standards were createt, and as long as you stick to these standards, no one is excluded.
Flash is neither a standard nor open or platform-independent.
Flash is slow and has no real use. Its only advantage is for some so-called web designers, that it is easy to build fancy-looking web sites without the basic knowledge of HTML, javascript and so on. Therefor they do not realise (or just ignore) the disadvantages: slowliness, crappyness, standard-incompliance, dependence on one company (macromedia).
Flash “bling bling” as abdicable on a web site is nice, but as soon as one can’t use a web site without a flash plugin, it is major crap. And exlusion of some (few) uswers.

Nevertheless I’d join Pauleenas flash web site immediatly if I could, if it was ready. But it isn’t ready, sigh.

I’m asking myself why Chloè is the highest rated and Pauleena on the bottom of the ratinglist?

    They are both hot babes.

Is it because she is black?

No. That’s oblious because she has fake boobs. It’s so sad.

I don’t think it’s sad that she has fake boobs as long as she (everyone) admit it,

Though, I don’t think it’s that beutiful as the real thing :)

Fake or real…when someone is into big ones saying that fake are not as good as real is a matter of detail. You like them big? When they are big and heavy, bouncing, fake or real, under a cashmhere sweater they all make you sweat

I’ve always said… Can I see them? If I was permitted, would I be able to touch them? Then they must be real. Sure, they may not be totally natural, but they’re always real… Unless they’re animated. But, then I wouldn’t really be able to touch them. I mean, not really. (Of course you can touch a drawing, but you get what I mean. It’d feel like ink and paper, not boobs.)

Rather, I wonder whether it is fake or not the ads in which to offer the most erotic services…

As expected the web site of Pauleena is still not up nor are there any signs it might get ready this year (or even this decade).
The usual vaporware, i repeat myself, as expected.
As far as i know Pauleena works as escort, and it seems she doesn’t have a financial interest in a working web site therefor …

Why do you pretend she would do something? does she owe you something?
